What B2B data enrichment costs

Enrichment pricing is deliberately hard to compare. Here are the real ranges, what changes the price, and the cases where you should not enrich at all.

How much does B2B data enrichment cost?

Roughly $0.03–$0.30 per record for self-serve tools and APIs, and $0.10–$1.00 per record for a managed service that verifies manually. Price is driven by three things: how many fields you need, how obscure the companies are, and whether anyone checks the result. Enriching 5,000 records typically costs $150–$500 through a tool, or $500–$1,500 as a service.

What enrichment actually means

You have a list with gaps. Enrichment fills them: company size against a name, an industry code, a LinkedIn profile, a verified work email, revenue band, tech stack.

Two things get sold under the same word, and they are priced very differently:

  • Database matching. Your record is matched against a large existing database and the fields are copied across. Fast and cheap. Accuracy depends entirely on how current that database is.
  • Research enrichment. Someone looks the information up at source and confirms it. Slower and more expensive. Accurate for the companies a database has never heard of.

The price ranges

Data enrichment price ranges by delivery method
RouteTypical cost per recordBest for
Self-serve tool credits$0.03–$0.15Large volumes of well-known companies
Enrichment API$0.05–$0.30Automated enrichment at point of capture
CRM native enrichmentBundledConvenience; coverage is usually limited
Managed research service$0.10–$1.00Obscure companies, regulated data, verified fields

Ranges reflect published 2026 market pricing. Our own enrichment work starts at $300 per project, quoted by volume and field count rather than a flat per-record rate.

The three things that change the price

1. Field count. Company name and website are near-free. Verified direct email, direct dial and revenue band are the expensive ones, because they are the ones that require checking.

2. How well-known the companies are. A list of US SaaS companies with 200+ staff enriches cheaply and accurately. A list of independent trades businesses in three countries will have poor database coverage, and the price reflects the manual work needed.

3. Whether anyone verifies. This is the real fork. Unverified enrichment is cheap because it is a database lookup. Verified enrichment costs more because a person confirmed the value against a source.

When enrichment is a waste of money

The uncomfortable part, and the reason we turn some of this work down.

  • When the base list is bad. Enriching a list of wrong companies gives you detailed information about companies you should not be contacting. Fix the targeting first.
  • When it is heavily duplicated. You pay to enrich the same company four times, then still have four records. Deduplicate first — it usually reduces the volume, and therefore the bill.
  • When you will not use the fields. Buying revenue band and tech stack for every record when your outreach only mentions industry is spending money to fill columns nobody reads.
  • When the data will sit unused for six months. Contact data decays at roughly 22–25% a year. Enrich when you are ready to use it.

On one audit we found 51.4% of a client's database was unusable. Enriching that list first would have meant paying to add detail to records that should have been deleted.

The order that saves money

  1. Deduplicate

Almost always reduces volume, and you are billed per record. This step frequently pays for itself.

  2. Verify what you already have

Find out which records are still live before spending anything on the dead ones.

  3. Decide the fields you will actually use

Write down how each field will change what you send. Any field that does not change anything comes off the list.

  4. Enrich

Now, on a clean and correctly sized list.

  5. Spot-check the result

Take 50 records at random and verify them independently. If accuracy is below about 90%, raise it with the provider before using the file.

How to compare providers honestly

Ask three questions and the differences become obvious:

  • What is your match rate on a list like mine? Not their average — a sample of your actual data. Coverage varies enormously by geography and company size.
  • Do you charge for records you cannot enrich? Some do. On a low-coverage list that changes the real cost substantially.
  • Where does each field come from? A provider that can explain the source is confirming values. One that cannot is passing along a database entry of unknown age.

Questions

Common questions

How much does data enrichment cost per record?

Roughly $0.03-$0.15 through self-serve tool credits, $0.05-$0.30 via API, and $0.10-$1.00 for a managed service that verifies fields manually. The spread is driven by field count, how obscure the companies are, and whether anything is checked.

What is the best CRM data enrichment tool?

It depends almost entirely on your list. Coverage differs sharply by geography, industry and company size, so the honest answer is to run the same 100-record sample through two or three providers and compare match rates on your own data.

Should I enrich before or after deduplicating?

After. Enrichment is billed per record, and duplicates mean paying repeatedly for the same company. Deduplicating first usually reduces the volume enough to cover the cost of doing it.

Is enrichment GDPR compliant?

It can be, but it depends on the source and your lawful basis for processing. Business contact data has a different footing to personal data in most jurisdictions. Ask any provider where their data originates - if they cannot tell you, that is your answer.

Do you offer data enrichment?

Yes, from $300 per project. We verify fields against a source rather than copying from a database, and we leave a cell blank rather than filling it with a guess. Send a sample and we will enrich 50 records free so you can check the accuracy yourself.

Want this done for you?

Send a sample of your data. We will tell you what is wrong with it and what it would take to fix — free, within one business hour.
